Gmelina arboria

Gmelina Arborea, commonly known as Gmelina or the Bee Tree, is a fast-growing, deciduous tree native to Southeast Asia, particularly found in countries like India, Myanmar, and the Philippines. This versatile species is valued for its high-quality timber, ecological benefits, and aesthetic appeal, making it a popular choice for reforestation, agroforestry, and landscaping projects.

Key Features:

Foliage: Gmelina Arborea features large, ovate leaves that are bright green and glossy, creating a lush canopy that provides excellent shade. The leaves are arranged oppositely along the branches, contributing to the tree's dense foliage.

Flowers: The tree produces attractive, tubular flowers that are usually yellow or pale orange and bloom in clusters. These flowers are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators, earning Gmelina its nickname as the Bee Tree. The flowering period typically occurs in the spring and summer.

Bark: The bark of Gmelina Arborea is smooth and pale gray, becoming rougher with age. Its aesthetic texture adds visual interest to the tree, making it suitable for ornamental planting.
